Replacement credit card sent to wrong address.

Egg has just managed to send my replacement creditcard to an old address that I left almost 18 months ago (despite them knowing my new address). Their online system confirms that my address changed in early 2005 yet somehow their computer sent it to the old address. It's very fortunately the new occupant was honest, spotted it was a card, and passed it on to me rather than bining it or, worse still, using it.

I just wondered if this was a one off? Is it common? Have Egg suffered a computer spasm.

They probably hold multiple addresses in their database and didn't update it.

What I would do is write to them and insist they confirm what other material they may have sent to the wrong address since you notified them of the change.

I suffered this problem with one of my investments (not a credit card)

I really stuggle to understand why they would do this (but they do).
