pchlib32.dll error in Peachtree 2006

Our computers keep locking up & giving an error the Peachtree has generated errors and must be shut down. It happens in on all four of our networked computers at different times and it doesn't always happen
when you do one particular thing it just does it here & there. On occassion we get a peachw.exe error. Peachtree says that it is the hardware not the software but we didn't have this problem until we upgraded to 2006 from 2004 version. We are running Windows XP on all of our computers, all of the users are administrators. We are at our wits end, we've tried new network cables and a new switch. Has anyone else had this problem or do you have any suggestions?

Well, it's not any particular task. You can be in anything, this morning I was closing a report and gave the error. Some days you can have a purchase order up and a customer invoice and not actually be doing anything other than having them on the screen and it will ask if you want to save the transaction and then give this error. We haven't been able to find one particular thing that causes it.

Are your anti-virus and anti spam software upto date on each machine?
You also said you upgraded the machines to Win XP. Are they all the same machines? If they were upgraded from Win 98 then you could be having problems with video settings or drivers. The dll referred to video errors when I opened it up to look at it. Make sure you have the latest drivers from the video manufacturer.

We use McAffee and it updates automatically. All of the machines were purchased within the past 3 years and came with Win XP installed. They are all Dell computer. I will check to be sure that the drivers are current & see if that helps. Could the anti-virus software be causing it?

I updated all of the drivers, 3 out of the 4 were out of date. So far that hasn't helped we are still getting the errors.
