PT2000 vs PT2005

A client of mine currently runs Peachtree 2000 and is in the process of choosing a successor program. She tells me that Peachtree 2005 does not do some things as well as the older version. Is currently looking at MAS90, at a much higher price. Can anyone tell me the real differences between PT2000 and PT2005 or 06? I just want to make sure that she's right, that the newer version won't do the same things she can currently do with 2000. I believe a part of her concern is the ability to look at older data after she's closed the books on a year.

Thanks.

If the year is closed properly, she can easily look at prior years by creating a backup company with the prior year data.

I would not upgrade from Peachtree to MAS90. Instead, I would urge you to find ways to stay with Peachtree till such time that you need the functionality of a larger package. MAS 500 is probably too much for you.

Have you considered Great Plains? Or Small Business Financials? Yes I am partial to that product line, but it is a good line.

Can you give us an example of what she claims don't do the same thing as in

2000? Yes, there are some changes but many of them happened with 2003/2004 and are quite useful. I went from version 6 to 2002 to 2003 to 2004 and have never regretted it.
