2nd Try Here: Quote to Sales Receipt

We are printing quotes to the full page, when picking up the quote for sale - we would like this receipt to print to the 40 Column. This is not happening. Can a quote that is converted to a final sale be printed as 40 col sales receipt?

Additionally, when a quote is picked up and tendered as a final sale, if a CC is used as the tender option, there is no field for a signature on the full page, but it is noted to require signature under the denomination.

I found one article related to a quote with multiple sales receipts, but I do not understand what it was saying - KB 874092.

Have you tried this receipt template from CustomerSource: Receipt - 40 Column as One Copy for All Transactions

You may have got yourself in a pickle. By setting the receipt format for quotes as a full page, RMS may always consider that transaction a quote, even when the quote is picked up. If that's the case, you will probably always get a full page receipt.

Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion/explanation.

I did try the 40-col/full page split. It was very ugly. I migt have an answer

- but have yet to test - so I am still wide open to any thoughts here.

I think this company I am with has a custom receipt installed on some existing stores - not on newer ones - so I have raided their receipt templates for the one I think will trigger back to sales in 40-col, but - again I have yet to test and read through it.

what about using work order instead of quote. it seems like it does the same thing as a quote, and i just tested printing it in full page, then recalling it, and it printed 40 col receipt printer. is there some reason why you HAVE to use quote? if work order will work, the problem solved. it seems to me that what you are using the quote for is more like a work order anyway. also, as a side note, i just tested using quote, and it worked for me as well. my system is set up to prompt printing to printer 1 & 2. after picking up the quote, it gave me the option to print to either printer. i think you just need to reconfigure printer settings

good luck

If you do decide to use work orders, you can tender all or part of the total $$ value. So if you are ordering something for someone and they pay you half now and half when they pick up, you can do it. Can't do that with a quote. It does not save the tender.

Make sure you set default deposit required to 0% > what about using work order instead of quote. it seems like it does the same

Jason,

Is your receipt printer set up with an OPOS driver? That seems to be the only difference I am noting between stores that can already do this and those that can not.

i do not use opos drivers. I always use standard windows, and have never had any problems.

I have all my printers using windows drivers, and I have never had any problems doing it that way

Once you have something established as quote with a full page receipt and then pick it up another full page receipt will print. Except it will say "Sales receipt" instead of quote. Same thing will occur if you have a work order on full page receipt.

Main difference we have found with a work order vs. a quote is that a work order commits inventory while a quote does not. In cases that you are tracking inventory and need to know if it's available I recommend the work order because it does get committed.
