Add Alias to Sales Invoice/Receipt

Hi,

We have recently moved to RMS (fab by the way!) however we have come across a really frustrating issue & that's the ability to specify the Invoice Layout on an A4 invoice.

Not only do we want to show the ILC but we want to show the Alias as well. I know most of you will cry out in disgust but we have a reason for this......................

In order to give our stock a logical ILC linked to the department and category we have re-numbered all our stock (32,000 lines) with a fresh ILC as part of our migration, which we thought was an excellent idea, finding stock on the system is a dream, however ALL our stock is barcoded with our suppliers individual barcode which we are using the alias as our barcode at the POS (does that make sense). Where this all falls over is on the customer receipt/invoice, we want to display not only the ILC but the alias too so that the customer can marry up the products to the receipt, I am being told this is not possible as there is no way of linking the data in the Receipt/Invoice template to both the items table and the alias table....................

Being a doubting Thomas I thought I'd ask the group, is it possible to display the ILC's alias on the receipt?

(Please note we have 1 Alias for every item)

Tia

No, it's not possible unless you move that data into another field - maybe one of the sub-descriptions or the extended description. Alias is only there to be used for look-ups.

Aliases cannot be printed on receipts or labels/tags because you can have an infinite number of aliases; there would be no way of the system knowing which alias was to be printed...
