APG Cash Drawer Locked up.

We are new to RMS and getting ready to go lo live.

Our APG 554 cash drawer was working fine - drawer opened as needed.

Now I'm getting the following message:

Warning 913: The cash drawer is not accessible. It may be locked by another application.

Nothing else is running. We have only one register. The untilities supplied by APG open the draw w/o problems.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

The problem is almost certainly with your printer, not your cash drawer. First, make sure the printer is powered up and connected. Then make sure the printer is not showing any error state - including out of paper. Next, you may have both SO Manager and POS open on the register. If so, in SO Manager, go to File/Configuration and then the Options Tab. There is an option that says "Share the OPOS printer with other applications". Make sure that option is selected. If none of that helps, check the cable between the printer and the drawer...

Hi John, we use APG cash drawers in our stores as well, and we have always gotten excellent customer support from APG, just for your reference in the future, in case you encounter any more issues:

I encountered this issue this morning. It is most definitely related to the OPOS printer. The paper was changed this morning in the printer. Subsequently there was no error display on the printer. To correct the problem (because rebooting the PC would not work) shut down POS and turn off the printer. Turn the printer back on then restart POS.
