changing departments.

This wizard Task 160 : restocking and reordering level wizard will only allow you to change the "New re-order pt and New restock level". when you try to execute a wizard and trying to import a txt file to it, the only changeable field there is coloured white or the parkable/editable fields, will be change during import.

If you to change the Department of an item , either you have to edit it one by one or thru SQL command (but not preferred! ) and by add in utility created by a third party vendor.

Hi search and download EMS 2005 sql import software (it's an easy import util, you can firure it out)... and just import your new database directly into MS POS database ... It workes ... I can't understand why your way doesn;t work, but this one works 100%

Because he was importing it in a wrong way and the wizard he use restocking and reordering level wizard is not for updating department code in an item. Plus there's no import utility included in MRMS that will do such way.

It will be a third party software that designed to fit to MRMS data structure. If you notice once you queried one item , it will give you the rows showing the data but not all shows name, most of the time it is code..Like Department Id , categoryid.. which when link to there master file will give you the Department Name & Category Name...so on...

what i'm trying to tell you that is not easy to just import items at will,it should be in the proper format fitted to item table structure.So that proper data mapping will come according to your preference.
