Duplicate Printing on Split Labels

When printing labels on the split labels used for Cognitive's Blaster Advantage, the number of labels that print are duplicated. If you set the quantity to one, two will print (side by side). This is a real hassel when attempting to print labels for a Purchase Order. You have to physically go in and set the quantities to half the amount for each item on the PO. Has anybody else encountered this problem and do you know of a fix? Our vendor has a trouble ticket in with Microsoft on this, but haven't received any word on if and when this will be fixed.

Thanks in advace for any assistance!

You have 2 options on how to configure Cognitive printers:

1) Set the printer up as a Generic/Text printer and use the Cognitive Blaster printer language to create the label format (You don't see a print preview in this setup)

2) Use the Cognitive Windows Driver and use the Label Designer built into RMS to create the label format.

Using the windows driver, it is possible to set up a label format that 'knows' you have side by side labels and prints to them the way that you expect. This is similar to the avery label formats that are shipped with RMS.

I set this up for a client once upon a time, but I can't find the label file we ended up with. It was enough of a hassle that I switched over to Zebra printers, but it can be done. If I recall correctly, you need to create a paper type in the windows printer properties as well as setting up the label format, but it's been a while...

We have some stores set up to use the generic drivers and some using the windows driver in hopes of fixing problem, but it's the same issue with both drivers. Duplicates the number being printed.

I'll give your second suggestion a try...the one you mentioned under the windows driver and creating a paper type.

Thanks for your help!
