I am running two stations with RMS and a server with MS SBS with SQL server. Whenever we post a transaction at 27 minutes past any hour the transaction hangs up and does not post. We receive an error 2147217871 and RMS shuts down. The transaction does not show up in the Z report but does show up in sales reports in RMS. It happens on both stations. Does anyone have any ideas? We are working with a partner but his expertise lies more in the server area than the RMS area.

You must have some process running every hour on your server at 27 minutes. That process is either consuming all your processor or most likely locking the database. You RMS terminals are timing out on the transaction they are executing. You could increase the default timeout.
Hi, I'm running into the same problem - transaction is not on the Z, but it appears in the sales reports. Where would the timeout be changed?
