Licence 1 lane

Hello,

I have a customer that would like to buy RMS for his shop. . I was thinking to run the manager from the office-computer and the POS from the shop-computer.

Are you able to run this with the 1 lane license. And is it then also possible to start POS in the office in case of emergency or just for reference? Or would you then need a 2 lane license?

Any help would be great I couldn't figure it out on the microsoft website.

Robbert,

With a 1 user license you can only run one register at a time, but you can have as many backoffice (Manager) machines as you want. That means in your emergency scenario you can run the back office machine as a register if the regular register is not running POS.

I hope this helps.

Good luck, Matt

Robbert, The license in RMS applies to the number of concurent users of POS and not Manager. Manager terminals are unlimited. You could run POS on the office computer if the other is not running POS, until V2.0 next month when the dongle is not used anymore. With 2.0 you need to activate any terminal that runs POS at anytime.

I have had the RMS for a year, and for the first 9 mos. I was able to use Manager on my desk terminal on the showroom floor. Now it won't connect and I have to do all my PO and label work at the POS terminal. Obviously not a great option when the store is open. Any ideas how to re-establish the connection? Thanks!

Hi! Does it mean that if i upgrade to 2.0 with the activation key next month, license changes "per-user"? I know that with dongle it is "per device". I have a client who has 10 computers in system and they use in all of them Manager and POS program, but only 5 in time, so they have 5-lane dongle. If they want to upgrade to 2.0, they need to buy 5 more lanes license?
