Does anyone know what I need to do in order to set my scanner (Metrologic MS6720) from doing an Enter (Enter is current setting) after each scan to doing a Tab? Basically, what I would like to try and do is set up Item Messages, but in doing so, everytime someone scans an item after the Item Message appears, it clears the message, and I think that if the scanner was set up differently I would be fine...Worth a try anyway!
It's actually worse that that. You need the 'Enter' so the cashier does not have to hit 'Enter' after scanning each item. The item message does pop up and stays BUT if the cashier does not look at the screen and manually clear the message box then disaster strikes. The next scan beeps as a good scan should, but instead of ringing up the item, it clears the message box. The customer gets the item the cashier THINKS they just scanned for FREE (and screws up your inventory). This could definitely use some work, maybe change the key used to clear the message box to anything but 'Enter'.

You need to program the scanner, remove the CR suffix and change it to TAB. There is a programming book for the scanner that you can get from Metrologic if you don't have it. There is also a programming utility that you can use and it is on their site as well.
