Regardless of what label I choose within Label Designer, the previewed barcode will not print; other objects will print. What could be wrong and how to fix it?

In my experience with the label designer, the barcode (even though it fits on the template you created) is too large for the template. Or, if you have a long item lookup code, it may not be large enough. Try playing with the size on of the barcode on the template, that has always worked for me.

If you get tired of making this selection and would like to automate barcode type for new items, try our AutoGen add-in. Enable barcode type on the Misc. tab and select the barcode type you want to use. New items adds will be assigned this type by default.
