MS POS scanning problem

Whenever i lose focus from the 'Enter a number, name, or description' textbox and another item is scanned in, the first button on the taskpad is activated (in this case 'items by description' is openened). When i scan another item the previous item is being opened in the taskpad 'view/edit item'.



example for lose focus: using the alt+Q to change quantity. fill in the quantity and 'enter'. scan another item (the 'items by description' is activated) and another and then 'view/edit item' is activated and then trouble!!!



is this a bug or what?



a workaround available anyone???

It sounds like your scanner is not configured properly. Please ensure your device has been selected in the Register Property dialog. The symptoms lead me to believe that you have a keyboard wedge scanner, that isn't setup in POS. This means the text from the scanner is simply entered into the textbox. You won't get the best results this way.

In POS View go to Tools -> System -> Register Properties. Make sure that your scanner is shown in the right hand side (Selected Devices).

Which scanner do you have? If possible you should install and use its OPOS drivers, rather than using as a keyboard wedge device.
