Offline Batches not in SO database, still in SO Offline database

Hi Everyone,

Have a problem where I see a few batches that are in the offline database with a status of 8 and they do not show up in the SO database. The cashier is off by the amount in that offline batch.

The reason I know this:

  1. SELECT * FROM BATCH in the offline database displays the offline batch and the amount matches the amount she is over in tender.

  1. There are no journal receipts shown for the time period that the cash register was offline.

Any ideas? Or anyone can explain how the offline database process works at the database level? I was thinking if I can reset the batch status and set some other flag the system would re-sync these batches back in. Already did a little tinkering that didn't work.

Any help is appreciated.

HI, You must be online to sync. the offline database with your live database, the data get sync automatically as soon as you log back on to POS.

Yes, ofcourse you have to go back online. Thats the only way to get your X and Z reports anyway. Anyone out there that knows the inner workings of offline mode? I want to reset the tables so that it thinks the reg is offline and the batches are not sync'd to the online database.

There is a setting in the RegEdit of each POS under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE == SOFTWARE == MICROSOFT == RETAIL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM =STORE OPERATIONS == POSUser where it says TerminalOffLine and it normally says False. If you turn that to True it will try to re-synch the data.

Hi all,

We had the same issue where the till's were on a domain, and when the link dropped the till went into offline, and didn't sync up the sales when the pos went back online. They are still in the offline database. We're working on the theory that its caused by user rights as the users do not have local admin rights.

Any thoughts? Cheers

Couldn't see your attachment, thanks anyway. Sorted the issue by removing the POS from Domain authentication, put it onto a LAN, and then by changing the batch number in the offline transaction table to the last open batchnumber from the offline batch table. We then forced the registry to say till was in offline, started the till up, and the sales came in.

Cheers
