offline database sync

My laptops are not updating the "offline" database when they are back online, Z'd and signed back on, they update the main database with the offline sales, but not the other way too update the offline one. Can you manually force this update?? I have removed all firewalls, norton programs, and such to no avail, local partner and one in Ohio have not come up with anything. The updating worked fine both ways previously, but not now??

I saw before an offline database that couldn't upload its offline sales to the master database but the offline database was successfully updated ! which is the opposite of what u r facing, the reason for that was -as jeff mentioned- a registry access privileges. RMS changes a flag in registry whenever it comes online or offline, and if it can't write into registry, it fails to know that it was offline b4 and therefore it doesn't even try to upload offline sales. On the other side, updating the offline database is an automatic process that comes upon z-out regardless it was offline or not, so i guess u might have a different problem, which is the collation. Please check the collation of the main database and the collation of the offline databases, make sure they r all the same.

your _any_ Firewall or turn it off to test. You must turn it off or allow the programs on _both_ ends!

then use that IP address in the SO Admin server name field.

Limited user that has rights to modify the registry. The key you need is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System | right click on it | Permissions | Allow Full Control for that user

Admin. using the rmsdb.bck file.
