Offline database synch issues

All, I am having major issues getting the offline database to synch up with the live system. The synch speeds through way too fast (only about 1-2 sec) and when I go offline, I have no Items, no Tender Types, no anything. Here is what I have done:

Took the machine I intend to use offline and disabled the Windows Firewall, uninstalled AV, and created a blank database using the RMSdb.bck file in SO Admin. The user logged in is an Admin but I still granted the user full permissions in HLKM/Software/Microsoft/Retail Management System/Store Operations/POSUser. Configured the offlive and live databases and successfully tested the connections to both. Opened the POS and Z'ed out. Logged back in and the synch fires right off but the offline database is still empty.

I was able to get a table to synch properly and fill with data after this by updating a its table in SQL on the live database but there are 117 tables in the offline database and it would not be efficient to update each one before attempting to sync.

Is there somewhere else I can tell the live database to update all tables without regard to the timestamp? Does anyone else have a solution to this?

Make a backup of the live DB. Copy to the secondary system. Use SO Admin to delete the old offline DB then create a new offline DB with the same name using the backup file as the source. If the DB name is unchanged, no other configuration changes should be required.

First, thanks to all for the help. I really do appreciate it. I have changed the permissions on the entire Store Operations subkey and will let you know how it goes. The live database lives on a SQL 2003 box and the offline databases will live on a MSDE box. The IP address for the live database is already static and I have localhost for the Offline database server name.

I am also go> Kevin,

key as there will be other issues as well.

and have the station(s) use that as the database server name in SO Admin's Connect and Configure screens.

database on the register machine correct? You should have (local) as the Offline's server name.
