Our database runs on a different PC to the register. I need to setup an "offline" database up so that if the SQL server goes down for some reason then the register can continue to run. Once the "main" database server is back up then the register needs to update the main database and revert to using it. To do this I presume I backup the main database, use this backup to create the offline database on the register and then make the appropriate changes within RMS itself. Or am I missing something?
"Offline" Database

- You create the offline database from the blank database that came on the installation cd for the version of RMS that you are running on the local copy of SQL on the POS PC. (I always call mine OFFLINE)
- Setup the offline server details under the Store Operations Administrator on the POS station.
- The next time you do a Z read or if you do a blind close the system will synchronise the offline database with the main database.
