Offline Synch Issues

I'm running two stores on 1.3 and HQ, I can't get either to work with an offline database mode (each with different error messages.)

I created a blank database (on local server) from rmsdb. Entered all info into "offline" tab in Administrator. Checked connections to database on local server (all fine).

When I Z-out, I get a different error at each store.

At store 1: ?Run-time error ?-2147217900 (80040e14)?: [DBNETLIB}{ConnectionOpen (Connect().]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.?

At Store 2" ?Run-time error ?-2147024770 (8007007e)?: Automation error The Specified module could not be found.?

Any ideas where I'm going wrong...suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

HI Steve, with the first error it seems that users id or password not enter, second what you as database server name given try to give [local] or may be the name of machine. second make sure to give correct user id and password and then try test connection.

Sould be set up this way: install SQL on the register machine and specify mixed mode connection not machine account only.

Build the blank DB in administrator after connecting to local SQL.

Then enter this info into offline server config.

As I understand it each register needs it's own offline DB they can't share one. I only run one register in offline anyway since the server going down needs to be resolved ASAP because of the limitations of offline mode. I keep a spare server ready to "roll in" so I'm back online quickly.
