Ponderiing the leap to v1.3

I know that lots of folks were delaying their upgrade to v1.3 until after the holidays. Well, the holidays are past and I am wondering--has anyone taken the leap?

I ask because I am seriously considering this upgrade myself--for several reasons.

First, I'm just about to roll out RMS to my second store. So far, I've not needed HQ--and it's a good thing. My v1.2 HQ box came with a Store Ops CD! I got the blue HQ dongle, but no HQ CD. My v1.3 discs arrived some time ago, and I did get HQ v1.3.

Second, I'd hate to roll out v1.2 everywhere then immediately begin a multi-store migration from v1.2 to v1.3. It'd be so much easier to just roll out v1.3 from the start.

So again, has anyone gone live with v1.3?

We have not, but note that hotfixes are now on the 1.3 level, so if there is an irritating bug you have been hoping to get fixed you must have 1.3 implemented from here on out. There have already been 2 hotfix packages released since the 1.3 roll out..

We've updated about 50 stores so far and have had only a couple of issues.

Couple of times we had to completely remove RMS and then re-installed from the 1.3 disk. We made sure to copy all customized reports, receipts and PO's before doing it though.

At the same time, we updated their SQL or MSDE with the service pack 4 and the .2162 hotfix without issues.

I can't seem to find the Hot Fixes for version 1.3?

How the hell did you find this? I searched the KB, PartnerSource, hotfix section. err!

What's wild about is that the Hotfixes aren't released yet and the reseller's site doesn't have them listed, only the public site and the document that lists the hotfixes, doesn't have a KB number. Kinda like a half baked loaf of bread!

What is being touted as V1.3 is actually Service Pack 1.3 -- am I correct? If so, I have been using it for quite some time now because of the credit card processing vendors. It has been just fine. No problems, no complaints.

If Service Pack 1.3 is something different and this is a more major release, will someone please let me know.

Service Pack 3 was a Service Pack for for RMS Version 1.2 - it installs version 1.2.0185 (as displayed in Help/About in Manager)

RMS Version 1.3 is a 'point release' and Help/About shows 1.3.0203

A point release is generally more substantial than a service pack, but RMS has been blurring the line on that - I think 1.2 SP2 was just as substantial an upgrade as 1.3. Oh well, it's just a number anyway...

The "Preferred Processor" vendors were added in 1.2 Service Pack 2 I think...
