POS is making me angry!!!

This program has not seemes to work correctly since the day I bought it.

The problem I am having recently is NOTHING will apply.

For example: I want to make a buy X get Y discount to apply automatically during a transaction. I set up the discount apply all the items I want to it, and edit it in the item properties, but it won't apply during the transaction.

I need 2 receipts to print automatically on a sales transaction. I change that in the receipt format in Manager, but POS still won't print 2 receipts.

It's very irritating, I've restarted all the programs and even reinstalled and it still won't work.

Does anyone know what is going on?

I do not think that there is anything wrong with RMS I have been using it for

3 years now and works fine.

You may have not applied the infomation correctly.

Yes, I am using it right out of the box...and no, I have not installed any service packs and hot fixes. As far as I know I have to pay to get those? I don't see any help available that does not require me to spend more money.

I have applied the information correctly, it's not too hard to figure out once you find everything, but I'm just at a loss as to why it won't apply in POS.

Thanks for trying to help me! If you know of anything else please let me know!

RMS is petty easy to setup up.

Did you get RMS from a partner?

I learned alot of RMS on my own but still got a partner in to setup my store a got foundation support from microsoft.

I have been playing with it before Microsoft bought the program from Sales Management Systems.

You should not have a problem print 2 receipts of your printer. I have Rental contract print to printer 2 receipts print to printer 1 and at the same time. I also have receipts that print on labels for clain tag that print a copy for us and one for the customer.

So something has not been applied correct to your receipt format.

Email me your receipt that your using and I will test it for you.

How can I set up a price scheme that will allow me to sell four of an item for $0.99?

Assuming the regular price of the item is $0.33, follow these steps to set up this price scheme:

  1. Go to Manager | Database | Discounts, and choose New

  1. Select Buy X get Y for Z

  2. Set Quantity to Buy at full price as 3

  1. Set Quantity to Get at discount at 1

  2. Set Discount price as 0.00

  1. Set description as 4 for .99 discount

  2. Click OK and then close the window

  1. Go to Database | Items | Item List

  2. Go to the properties of the item, then to the Discount tab

  1. Select "Buy X Get Y" discount scheme and select the 4 for .99 discount for the Discount scheme

  2. When you ring in 4 items they will come up as 10. Select "Buy X Get Y" discount scheme and select the 4 for .99 discount for the Discount scheme

    11. When you ring in 4 items they will come up as $0.99..99.

If the regular price is different you will need to modify the discount amount. For example if the regular price of the item is $0.30. Then the fourth item will be discounted at $0.09.

Khopek,

Are you using MSPOS or RMS? They are 2 different programs from Microsoft, yet share similar names. In MSPOS it has a Point of Sale icon and in RMS it says Store Operations POS

I am using MSPOS. I believe version 1.2.

As far as the receipts, the only thing I changed was the number of receipt I want it to print. I am using the Default Receipt 40 column Template.
