Read RMS data via ODBC

Jan 12, 2006 3 Replies

We have 5 franchise retail stores and 1 central office. Our franchisor is migrating from apropos in Unix/Linux to RMS. I have an extensive administator database in MS Access reading the current apropos tables via a vpn and ODBC connection using informix at our central office (off site from the stores). I only need to read information at the central office.

Working with the RMS demo (we go live in stores next week), I can odbc to the sample database but cannot see any of the table that hold actual data. As usual, it is like pulling teeth to get conncect information from the franchisor even though they say, "Sure, we'll give it to you."

Can anyone give me a hint as to how to get to the actual data tables so I can convert my Access front end to read them? I am fairly knowledgeable with ODBC and VB, etc. Not so with sqlServer. Sorry for the long post....just need help quickly before the go live date. Thanks in advance.
