Report will not print

RMS2.0 SP2

When I print any report, 90% of the time, it will only print the report header and NO other information. When I print to a PDF file it will ALWAYS print the entire report properly. I spoke to MS tech support and they said to change the store logo to the BMP which I did, still no good. Any suggestions?

I am using a USB Canon printer, the reports have been printing correctly in the past. I already uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers. I am completely lost.

Haik,

Can you print any other reports? Maybe something is wrong with the report formatting, so the field does not fit or get printed? I have had this problem with label formatting in RMS , but I am not sure it applies to report formats.

Haik - I know you said the Canon is USB - but when you say that, is it direct connected USB, or networked or shared by chance. I often experience data loss with networked printers and only get pp1 of larger rpts. The PDF writer has a direct connection, if you will, thus no loss.

This issue is happening with all reports. I replaced the report files already.

The printer is directly connected to the report printing PC.

I am confused as hell.....because sometimes it works and 90% of the time it doesnt.

Hi Haik,

I forgot to ask what side of the app you are having issues with, and the version.

I know this is frustrating. Since the printer is not networked over a secure connection - it could be your store logo. I know this sounds super weird, but do you have a big logo file installed, or is the name of the logo path kind of long? Is the logo a .jpeg? You logo paths are installed under Admin (HQ/SO) - from there you can get the path, and check out the logo size, logo type and logo file name.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Store Logo: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\Pictures\storelogo.bmp (it is the default logo) 6KB BMP File

RMS Manager Version: 2.0.0116 (Manager > Help > About)

We also had the same issue crop up throughout the years. It seemed to happen with some printers but not with others, so I also believe it might be due to certain print drivers. It happened all the time with our Canon, HP, and Xerox ink jet printers, but hasn't happened once since we upgraded to a Samsung laser printer. Craig
