Running RMS on Tablet PC

My main system is a Thinkpad X41. This is the only laptop that should ever be made by the way (with the possible exception of the MacBook - I've gone Mac at home and it's really impressive). I use my tablet to demo and support RMS, but I'm not using it for any "tablety" things.

XP Tablet Edition is just XP Pro with some added features. No issues installing or running RMS or any other Windows software. As far as RMS features go, if you can do it with the mouse, then you can do it with the pen.

The only problem I can foresee would be that the RMS Touchscreen keyboard would not resize itself when you switch from landscape to portrait mode.

Did you have a specific concern?

Glenn, thanks. My applications would be creating purchase orders (walking the store), receiving inventory (in the warehouse), physical inventory (spot checks, not an entire store inventory). Not sure what other applications would work. We use batch data collectors for some of these functions and I know New West has the wireless sofware. The more I think about it, a scanner would be needed for some of this, so I might need 3 hands, for the tablet, a scanner and the pen. One of my techs owns a Gateway tablet and had loaded RMS on it to study for the certification exam and it just got me to thinking. Obviously I would need to build a wireless network for the tablet. I made the mistake of using a wireless network for the entire RMS system once and the POS terminals would drop the connection several times a day, so we ended up with a wired network. I will not make that mistake again. Also, thanks for your explanation to someone on here as to why that happens.
