Store Admin Config won't save info

this is so frustrating:

1) I will start Store Admin and go to the Configuration screen and tell it which database to point to. 2) I click test database connection and it gives "Error 2147467259" 3) I click Test Database Connection again because i know my info is correct and i get "Database Successfully Connected" without having to change any information. I can keep clicking the test button and it keeps connecting successfully with no more errors. 4) I click OK to save the configuration 5) The configuration isn't saved! When i go back into the configuration menu it's pointed back at the RMSSample database.

No matter how many times i try, it keeps connecting successfully but won't save the info after I click OK. This happens exactly the same even after restarting the computer--the first time i try to connect I get the error, then after that it works perfect except it won't save the config info after clicking OK. Also, I can connect to the db just fine in the Connect window.

No admin rights within windows, so you can't edit hte registry where those settings are saved.

log on to windows as the administrator, then change your SO settings. Use the IP address for the db server instead of the machine name.
