Tendering without a customer selected?

Is there any way to Tender without actually creating a customer? Say a customer just walks in and makes a quick cash purchase without any desire to leave their name and number... is there a way to just make the sale without recording customer info?

Two options:

#1: Store Operations|Configuration|Customer Options... Require customer selection for orders Require customer selection for quotes Require customer selection for sales

You can uncheck any or all.

#2: Create a customer called Cash Sale.

That is how all of my sales are tendered...I run a small convenience store, and I don't have any customers on file...I could if I wanted, but I find it easier and quicker to scan an item press enter to bring up the tender screen, and then the + key to open the drawer...basically scan > enter > + and I'm done...easy as 1 2 3. Best of luck.

We have an account set for Cash, Check and Credit Card. It helps look them up in the journal later.

We have some established customers but most of our sales are from walk-in customers that we don't select a customer from the list. I do have a generalized customer for some software due to pricing points.

Elizabeth,

Just a thought, create a customer for each of your local zip codes and select one when making a sales to find out where your walk-ins are coming from. For example, create a customer with the last name of 80932 and also put it in the zip code field.

Then run the attached report. You may find you need to open another store in a new zip code. ;-)
