Training Mode

Jul 17, 2007 8 Replies

Hi everyone, I searched the forums for this and didn't find what I was looking for, so I hope I'm not rehashing an old topic. I understand that RMS

2.0 is supposed to have a training mode for the POS to train new cashiers. How does one put the register into training mode? Is the only way to switch which database the POS is using to a 'practice database?'

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response Amy. We're using 3.0 so we don't have a dongle. I'm beginning to think you just need to use a 'training' version of your store's database, but that seems like a bit of a pain to point the POS to a different database just to train a new cashier.

Rance,

If this is a new store not yet open, you could have the to ring up test transactions, then before opening up. Then go into Store Operation Administrator, then under Database tab you can click on delete transactions. I have all my remote locations that to far from traininig at store to get some testing on the register this way. Just make sure your Headquarter Client software is turn off to keep these test transactions from being polled to the home office.

As far as I know the only way to enetr training mode is to switch to a database specifically created for training. It would be nice to have a feature built in to switch it quickly, but I havent seen it yet.

And why did Microsoft combine the RMS and POS software on the same newsgroup? Jason

"Jeff @ Check Po> Rance,
