Offline Mode / Blind Closeouts

Whenever our network goes down all our registers go into offline mode. And that's fine... works well enough.(Except for the fact that we crash instead of seamlessly shifting into offline mode.. which is pretty unprofessional. And then we stay in offline mode even after the network is back up.. until we restart SO-POS.)

But when it comes time to do our Z-Reports, we now have extra "Blind Closeouts" that we have to close one-by-one from SO-Manager. And its really annoying. In our 4-lane store, if the network goes down twice, we now have

12 Z-reports to reconcile at the end of the day.

Is there really no other way to handle offline mode and Z-Reports? I know other software like ECRS Catapult don't have this multiple-report problem. (And while I'm on the subject.. they also switch into offline mode and back seamlessly.)

Or is there at least a way of making the whole process less cumbersome?

If your network or server is going down twice a day, then you have a major problem with your setup that needs to be fixed.

I do agree that it would be nice if RMS went into Offline Mode seamlessly. While it is annoying to have POS close on you in the middle of a transaction when the server goes down, this should not be happening on a daily basis.
