We have been using QB since 1999 and have upgraded when necessary. We are currently using QBPro 2004. I would like to condense this file, however, the condense function has never worked. It keeps trying to rebuild and verify the file and always stops. After reading previous posts, I tried to turn off the audit trail to see if that was the problem. But even though I remove the check in the audit trail option, it is never turned off. Any ideas? Thanks.
1) Once any transaction has an aduit trail, that trail will be maintained for that transaction no matter the setting. I also believe that it always creates a trail for changes for closed periods, again no matter the setting. 2) Run rebuild. Let it run overnight. The % indicator isn't. It stalls and looks like it isn't working in pass 2 somewhere between 10 and 20 % done. Just let it be. It will eventually finish.
