I reconciled now i cant get rid of transactions in Items Received From

QuickBooks 2005 Pro I recently reconciled my checking account and all was well. When I went to download my new transactions online I wasnt able to because there is already a list of transactions under Items Received From Financial Institution. I cant match these transactions because the check register already has the little lightning bolt checks because I already matched the transactions before I reconciled. I removed the check marks from the register and tried matching the transactions again... which worked fine... but then when I leave the Match Transfers window and try to go online again the transactions are there still... and they are all listed as unmatched... even though i just matched them all and clicked done. When I try to download and open my new transactions I am prompted to link them to my savings or to a new account... or create a new QuickBooks account... there is no option to link them to my checking account.. i suspect this is because there is already a download waiting to be matched to my checking account.

I would be happy if I could just delete the transactions, or better yet delete the Checking QuickStatement listed in the Items Received From Financial Institution section (in the Online Banking Center window).

I also did and undo last reconciliation but that didnt do any good either.

By gosh you have the answer. Open the Online Banking Center, select the account in question, highlight the offending download and find that delete button!

P.S. You may have screwed up your paper statement reconcile.

QB online banking effectively does your reconciliations. It is important that you use it at the end of every month and then immediately do your bank reconciliation. You can even reconcile several times a month, possibly after each download.

I dont think that reconciling caused the problem. I think it has something to do with the darn QuickStatement transactions... i went through and added them effectivley clearing the entrie list of transactions but when I click done I I still cant delete the QuickStatement from the Items Received From list and when I click view.... the damn transactions show up as unmatched again. I cant get rid of this list for the life of me. Is this a file that i can delete or something? I searched for ofx and found nothing. There has to be a way to get rid of this list of transactions.... I record them and they still come back... I match them and they still come back DOH!!!!

Any help is greatly appreciated

Well, don't know what the file is called. Obviously by now you have rebuilt the data file. So the next thing is to remove online banking access from the bank account. That should delete the offending statement. I'd suggest closing QB at this point to be sure all cache empties too. Then re-open QB, add the online access back to the bank account and see if it is gone. If that doesn't get rid of it, time to call India -- er Quickbooks Support -- and hope for a smart one. (Keep the ticket number. PO's em to heck when they can't get one closed and you tend to get smarter tech's the longer the ticket is open.)
