Importing Fixed Assets using Excel File in QB2005 Premier Accountant Edition

Oct 14, 2005 2 Replies

I am trying to import my fixed assets from a file I maintain in Excel 2000. i am using the Import From Excel option in the Item menu on the Fixed Asset Item List screen. On the mapping screen I am seleting "Item" as the type of value to import. The error I get when trying to import is that the "TYPE" value is either "InvalidItemType" or "UnsupportedItemType". In the manual entry window for new assets on the Fixed Asset Item List screen, the type is listed as "Fixed Asset" but is grayed out and so cannot be changed. I have tried the following values in the "TYPE" field with each one returning an error:

FIXEDASSET Fixed Asset Fixed Asset FixedAsset fixedasset fixed asset

Anyone know what QB is looking for in that field?

Thanks in advance. Monte Sliger

What version of QB do you have?

As it says in the subject line, I have QuickBooks 2005 Premier - Accountants Edition. Thanks for replying.
