More payroll update crap

I thought I was through complaining about payroll update. I got the "one time free" update when I upgraded to QBPro2006, then found out it only worked for one EIN. I bought the payroll update and tried to follow the instructions for adding an EIN to the subscription. The instructions say:

------------- To add a new company file (EIN) to an existing QuickBooks Payroll subscription Go to the File menu, choose Open Company, and then click the company file you want to add.

Go to Employees menu, choose Add Payroll Service, and then click Use My Existing Payroll Service.

or

If the company has an existing QuickBooks Payroll subscription and you want to move it to another QuickBooks Payroll subscription, then go to the Employees menu, choose Payroll Service Activities, and then click Modify Payroll Service Option.

Follow the onscreen instructions to add the company to your existing subscription.

-------------

None of this works. One EIN shows a valid subscription and the other shows a one time update has expired. I cannot get the second EIN on the subscription. I have wasted about four hours on this.

Call Intuit and they'll add it over the phone then give you a key to enter into QB.

They don't charge for the call?

Well blow me down!!

I called - got through in seconds - spoke with a friendly woman who spoke English - got my problem solved immediately (without charge).

(off to buy a lottery ticket.)
