Old Quickbooks V7 (2000) - Australian edition

My computer crashed and was formatted recently. Along with it, I lost my Quickbooks V7 (Australian) program. Fortunately, I backed up my files and am able to restore it. But.. I lost my original disc of the Quicken program. I am desperate to get a copy of this software as my back up file will only run on this version. Can anyone help me on my current crisis? Thanks. The current version of QB sold in your country should be able to read the file.

Reckon Australia is currently selling QuickBooks 2006/07. If you contact them, or a Quicken Accredited Consultant, they should be able to arrange for an upgrade of QuickBooks that will not need the original program to upgrade from.

You will be able to restore your old file, but it needs to be done properly. The upgrade package includes the required instructions. Basically, it needs to be upgraded via at least QuickBooks 2002, a trial copy of which is provided on the QB 2006/07 install disk.

Better still, it should be upgraded through all versions since yours. You can find a consultant in your area at

who should be able to do thework for you, as well as obtain an upgrade for you from Reckon. Bob Williams
