Premier 2006

We currently use Premier Wholesale 2004. We are planning to get 2006. We manufacturer diamond jewelry and we have tried to use the assembly feature but can't really get it to work right. So anyways my question is Premier

2006 worth the upgrade??

Thanks, Tim

Even if it does not solve your assembly problem, (what ever that may be)

2006 is a good investment.

What is the basis for your saying so?

In my opinion the new database engine used by version 2006 is more than enough to warrant the investment. Every thing else, and there is quite a bit more, is just icing on the cake. I consider version 2006 a must have for all current QB users, its that good.

Agreed! The performance gains recognized by moving to a true relational (read SQL) database more than make up for the normal pains related to upgrades (learning new tricks and ways to do some things differently, e. g.) and the new user interface makes the program easier to use once you get used to it. It's much more intuitive IMHO. I know some don't like the graphical interface. Heck, I know a few die-hards who would like to go back to DOS (and at least one who prefers pencil and paper).

I agree on the upgrade also. Unless you are using some old pre-sunset version for payroll (read 99 rev3 or earlier) the 2006 is well worth it. On the GUI front, I was able with some tweaking to get just about the same exact look as I was using with 2004 except for the added 5 buttons at the beginning of the toolbar. Not to big a deal though.

The latest patch allows you to remove these also from view.

Ahh, found it, wasn't customize as I thought it would be. It is View, Navigation Bar in the menus. Thanks Allan.
