QB installation

Will appreciate any reference to available instructions to install QB Premier 2005 Accountant on an XP Pro network computer to be used by only one user on a slower W98 machine.

Thanks!

Install it on the user's machine and ignore the network. Why make things complicated if you only have one user?????

I refer you to the install manual that comes with the product.

Install away. The database can be anywhere.

But the software must be on the user's computer (unless using Terminal Services), and performance will be slower if the data is located elsewhere.

The problems I am having reinstalling Quickbooks 2005 Pro, after upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro, would suggest either do not do it, or pay someone you do not like, a flat fee to make the upgrade and make sure your programs work with it. Do not belive the XP Pro program compatability check which gave my system a clean bill of health. That was over a week and many, many hours of attempting to recover, unsuccessfully to date. Among things missed by the check, lost ethernet drivers, lost display drivers. Lost most programs & having to reinstall virtually everything. Hard to do when the files are there, registry keys there, but programs not in add/remove & Quickbooks will not allow you to upgrade on top of the current, non-working installation.

Good luck
