Sun StarOffice

We have three PCs running Quickbooks, 2 with 2002 and one with 2005. On one of the Quickbooks 2002 machines we have had to convert to StarOffice instead of MS Office. Is it possible to redirect output from Quickbooks to StarOffice instead of Excell please?

OpenOffice, formerly StarOffice, warned that some of their spread sheet data will not be displayed properly in MSExcel.

I tried it, found that to be true and decided not to switch from the Evil Empire software.

I don't believe that you can export direct to StarOFfice/Open Office. However, you can export reports to a csv file that you *should* be able to open in StarOffice/OpenOffice.

Why do people believe they become more crediable when they bash Microsoft?

Why all the carping? I am not bashing Microsoft. I am a Microsoft Partner so the likelyhood is low. I have an Office 2003 CD with 10 licenses but for some reason this particular PC will not accept the Product Key. I spent the whole of yesterday afternoon on the phone to various very helpful people at Microsoft without success so my only alternative was to download StarOffice from GooglePack.

I will try the csv suggestion, for which I am most grateful.

Or some twits cannot tell that when Sun admits and alerts that their product is not 100% Excel compatible it is not Microsoft bashing!

May I suggest you re-read my post. You will notice that it was not a reply to yours but the one you cited. Since that poster is in my Kill-File I hadn't seen it until your comment. Had you read my post, you too would have noted that it was a recommendation to use the Microsoft product.
