Bank Account Closed - Unable to stop Online activity

I payoff a loan and the bank closes the account (I have other open accounts at that bank). Now I cannot remove the financial institution or stop Q2005 from trying to access the account when the other open accounts are updated. The financial institution line is grayed with bank info. I cannot take it offline. Now I get error messages about the closed account every time I update.

A solution anyone?

IIRC, edit the loan account and deactivate it for online services.

I have the same problem with an investment account. I closed the account and edited it so that it would not be in the auto updates. However Q6 still tries to download from the brokerage with the usual error messages.

Exactly Quicken no longer shows a online tab but tries to update it anyway- total frustration...

I'm not sure if this will help, but you could give it a try (at your own risk). If you press - while clicking on the contact info of the Online Center, you get a dialog box with several options:

  1. Refresh
  2. Delete

One (or both) of these options might get Quicken to stop accessing the FI online. I've never tried it.

Thanks for your suggestion. I read somebody else's similar post and their solution was to delete the *qel file that fixed the problem - downside q2005 then re-down loaded everything the other accounts for the past 90 days. Upside they all matched so a click of the Match all button saved the day.
