Can't use Quicken Help - V2009

could be one of two areas : the actual HELP service, or the file

Try searching for the "Quicken.chm" file - and click on it to open Help - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Help

I could only find a file "QUI.CHM" at that location and it brought up the Help screens fine. I don't have trouble with Help in any other application. What's my next step to pinpoint this? I would think that if it is the HELP service, it wouldn't work for anything.

Help File not showing up

If this is the case where when you try to open the Help file in Quicken and you get an empty box or something like an HTML error try to make IE the default browser.

Close Quicken - open IE - Tool - Internet Options - Programs - click where it says "Make Default" Reopen Quicken and see if this fixes this problem.

Had the same issue with the Help file and this is what fixed it on my computer.

Also find quicken.lif and check to see if it is a Read Only, if it checked as such unselect "Read only".

You can also try to uninstall Answerworks through the Add/Remove and then reinstall it. You can find the exe file for it under C:\Program Files\Quicken \AnswerWorks (Windows XP)

Make sure Quicken is not running when you do this.
