Cannot restore backup files

I have always been able to restore my backup files successfully, but had a bad crash and lost my Roxio Direct CD. Now I have tried using the Windows Print Wizard and can get my backup files printed on to a CD just fine. But when I try to restore, i get the message "one or more files are missing:. I also went to files run, and could not open the .QDF file. My discs are new. I"m using Quicken 2005 Deluxe. Do I need to format them somehow, as I did with Roxio? I don't want to reinstall the Roxio program because I had so much trouble with it before, getting it updated to work right. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you. Don

Try putting the QDF file on your hard drive and restore for there. That might work. I would also suggest you drop Roxio. I changed to Nero and am very happy with it. I backup to CD once a week, and have had zero problems.

Have you tried to use the Windows CD writing wizard? It is an option as to where you want to backup to?

Hi Don, I have both my business and my personal finances on two accounts with Quicken 2007 just upgraded from 2004. I've used Roxio for years without any problems. Maybe I'm lucky. However, I now backup to external USB drives (and a Linux file server!). I'm very paranoid about losing all my data that I've used since 1991 on various versions of Quicken. USB thumb drives, hard drives or zip drives all work well and I recommend them all. Make sure you take any disks away from the computer they are backing up so fire doesn't consume them all. I assembled an aluminum Hotdrive 2.5 case with a Toshiba 40 Gb notebook hard drive and carry it back and forth to work. Or get a Corsair thumbdrive in whatever size you need. A hundred bucks to

for either will set you up. Good luck. T
