Personal versus business bill reminders

In the referenced discussion, it takes the original poster four posts to finally make the essence of his question clear ... after acting as if he was somehow entitled to an answer (answers are typically provided when someone actually believes they might have an answer) ... and no user is entitled to any answer, much less an answer that satisfies the user.

Personal, business and rental Reminders are not separately identified in the Manage Bill & Income Reminders list ... and frankly, I'm not sure why they should be.

But, in the original poster's fourth post, what appears to be the real problem, finally comes to light.

The real problem is - and many users experience this problem - that the user does not understand what makes a Quicken transaction, a "business transaction" - therefore, what makes a Reminder, a "business reminder".

[Those who do not use the (currently known as) Home, Business & Rental Property version of Quicken should not experience the problem.]

For a Quicken Reminder to be a "business reminder", it must be a Reminder for a "business transaction".

In Quicken, a "business transaction" is a transaction that has a Schedule C tax line item assigned ... or a transaction that has NO tax line item assigned, but which has a business Tag assigned.

When a transaction is recorded in a Quicken account, the user can assign a tax line item to that transaction, even when the transaction category does not have a tax line item assigned (right-click the transaction and select "Tax line item assignments"). But that can't be done with a Reminder.

To create a "business reminder" the user must use a category with a Schedule C tax line item assigned, or use a category with NO tax line item assigned and assign a "Business Tag".

[It does not matter what the "account intent" of a transaction account is; the "account intent" has nothing to do with whether a transaction is a "business transaction" (therefore whether a Reminder is a "business reminder"). All that matters is whether the transaction involved is a "business transaction", as defined above. "Business transactions" can be recorded in non-business accounts, and "personal transactions" can be recorded in business accounts.]

I have no problem creating a "business reminder" in Q2020 R29.12 or R26.17 as long as I follow the rule noted above. I can create such a reminder clicking the "Add" button on the Cash Flow tab under the Business tab (or by any other available method for creating Quicken reminders).

There is a slight wrinkle in, and a correction to, my previous post.

Correcting the rule that controls the appearance of Reminders in the "Business Reminders" List on the Business tab: To appear as a "Business Reminder" on the Business tab, the reminder must either specify an account with "Business intent" or be a "true business reminder" as noted in my earlier post (a "true business reminder" is a reminder for a true "business transaction").

A true business reminder will be displayed on the Business tab regardless of the account intent of the account where the reminder is scheduled to be recorded.

[For Business Reminders on the Business tab: The selection of "All - by month" works just as well as "All by bills and deposits", as long as the reminder date qualifies for "All - by month".]
