Quicken "Business" reports (found at Reports > Business) will only utilize Quicken "business transactions.

In the discussion, user volvogirl says, "To be included in business reports (and I don't know where else) you have to assign the category to a schedule C tax line item number."

Assigning a Schedule C tax line item to a transaction is only one of the two ways to create a "business transaction".

The other way to create a "business transaction" is to assign NO tax line item to the transaction, but assign a "Business Tag". [A Business Tag will not override a tax line item.]

A Business Tag is a special type of tag that can only be created by Quicken Business Edition users - by going to Business > Manage Business Information > Add.

[It is also not necessary to assign the Schedule C tax line item to a Category; the category (in the Category List) may have any tax line item assigned - or no tax line item assigned. All that is necessary is that an individual transaction have a Schedule C tax line item assigned - and that can be done by right-clicking a transaction, selecting "Tax line item assignments" and choosing the appropriate Schedule C tax line item. A tax line item assigned to the category in the Category List, can be overridden by assigning a different tax line item - or no tax line item - to an individual transaction.]
