Disappearing Reconcilliations

I use Quicken 2003 and have had a recurring problem with reconcilliations disappearing from time to time in different accounts. Today I went to reconcile one of my credit card accounts and the reconcilliations for everything in the past four months had disappeared. I typically reconcile every month so I don't know what happens here.

Okay, I'm confused.

The usual result of reconciling one's accounts is that the value in the "CLR" column is set to "R".

Yet you're acting like a "reconciliation" is a separate thing that can be opened and manipulated (and lost!) in Quicken ... care to elaborate?

Sorry for the confusion. What I am talking about is accounts that I have already reconciled and the R is in the CLR column. Everything is fine as long as it stays that way but infrequently I will open an account and a number of the spaces in the CLR column that had been marked R are now completely open. It usually a previous month's reconcilliation but today I went to reconcile and account that I routine reconcile every month and the CLR column is completely cleared and all the transactions are considered unreconciled.

Hope that helps

This is very strange. In 15+ years of using Quicken, I've never seen such behavior.

What version of Q (year and release) are you running? What's your operating system? Does anyone else have access to your machine? Is ANYTHING else on your machine acting strangely? Have you made any configuration changes (h/w or s/w) lately?

{as you can probably tell, I'm stretching to come up with ideas}.

I am using 2003 Home & Business, my operating system is WindowsXP Pro, my system is a pentium IV w/1GB RAM. Everything operates perfectly on my system including Quicken except for this problem. It is interesting to note that it is a problem which recurs and I am always able to fix everthing but it requires some "brute force" which I do not like and I am not certain of the overall results of the correction on other things.

Very interesting. I just got the same bizarro behavior on my checking account. lost R's back to Feb. It is Q Deluxe 2005. It would happen with Q 2002 occasionally too. Clearly a bug.
