Discover number change problems

Discover has decided to change my card number. While I haven't activated it yet, they have gone ahead and changed my online account. The charges on the old card are still reflected. At the same time they issued my new card, they also forced an ID change on the online website.

I changed my ID in Quicken, but on the first update, it downloaded the last year's worth of transactions. I've been slowly deleting the transactions from the pending list, but that could take forever. Is there not any way to delete all of them at once?

My intention was to keep one account in Quicken, even though the acct # and ID have changed so that I everythings in one place.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Not from the "Accept transactions into register" window. But there is a workaround (assuming you have at least Q2007 - maybe Q2006).

Enter a dummy transaction in the account register (put something in the Memo field that clearly identifies it).

Do an "Accept All" for the downloaded transactions. Sort the register on "order entered". Select all the transactions (using the same method you would to select multiple files in Windows Explorer) starting with the dummy transaction you entered, through the last transaction displayed in the register. Then Edit > Transaction > Delete.

Backup first.

Correction: Q2005, and newer, can select multiple transactions in non-investment account registers.

Very nice, never thought to look through that list of options. I followed your directions, except for the "Backup first". Worked anyway, thanks very much for your help.
