Download investment data from Smith Barney?

I plan to also ask this question on the Quicken website, but just in case someone already knows...

Is there a way I can transfer my account data from my Smith Barney investments website directly into Quicken 2005? I can create an Excel file of the account data (name of stock, current value, etc) but there does not appear to be a way to import that data into Quicken. It appears that Quicken does not handle online investment data very well, but only works with online banking data. Is that correct?

Thanks much,

Unless Smith Barney appears in the list of supported financial institutions, you will be unable to download from them. Quicken handles online investment data just fine.

Thanks for the reply. Smith Barney is definitely a supported institution. I did more research and found out what to do. I have to get a Quicken-specific PIN from Smith Barney to be able to access the accounts.(At $3 per month per account...) I didn't know that.

Heck, my other institution (Hibernia Bank) doesn't require that, and I'm able to get the Hibernia data with no problems.

Live and learn....

Not true. I download from Smith Barney and do not pay any additional fees. Not sure what you are doing wrong.

Smith Barney will charge $3/month/account, unless you are a "Select Client", or so the PDF file says. I did send my online access form to my Smith Barney agent, and also expect to be treated as a select client.
