Home and Business

I probably have no interest in upgrading to Quicken Home and Business next year, but I'm curious. What are the differences between Quick Deluxe and Quicken Home and Business? Are there any reasons why Home and Business would be preferable to a plain home user like me?

I've looked for a comparison and explanation on Intuit's web site, but I haven't found anything that makes the differences clear.

H&B is intended for sole proprietors. Where the business and the individual(s) are a single tax entity. If this isn't your situation, you probably don't need H&B. But, why were you even considering it? Was there some specific feature that caught your attention? db

No, I was *not* considering it. I was trying to find out whether I should be considering it. As I said, "I probably have no interest in upgrading to Quicken Home and Business next year, but I'm curious."

No, Again, as I said, "What are the differences between Quick Deluxe and Quicken Home and Business?"

Like danbrown said, Home and Business is mainly for sole proprietors like if you file a schedule c on your income tax returns.

Also as far as I know, it has a feature to track odometer readings for business use of your vehicle. I don't have it, but have thought of getting it for that purpose - just never wanted to spend the additional $.

Here's the link, from Intuit, of product features in a side-by-side. NOTE, the need to hit the right arrow to see past the first 3 products.

In Canada, one only has a choice between Quicken Cash Manager and Q. Home and Business. No Deluxe available.

Ken,

I have it just because I've always had it since I had a small business sev eral years ago, and on the off chance I might have a client reappear I want to keep the records. You don't need anything in it. It does invoicing, tra cks vendors, clients, bills, and other functions that a small business migh t need. If you're not in business, no need to have it. jo jo

Leaving aside the invoicing, tracks vendors, clients, bills, etc., is it otherwise the same as regular Quicken?

Thanks very much. That's what I wanted to know. It's what I suspected was the case, but never having seen it, I wasn't sure.
