Investment Register Format

Sep 08, 2005 5 Replies

Just upgraded to Q06 (H&B) and they changed the register format for investment accounts. Now there is a column for the security that the entry applies to. The problem is the column is VERY narrow and only shows a small portion of the name. The "Description" column is huge (like 3/4 of the page). I am trying to make the "Security" column wider and use part of the "Description" column space (like one can do in Excel). Cannot get it to work. Does anyone know how to reformat the column widths in the register?

Thanks.

Can't be done.

You can see what's "missing" in a field by placing your cursor in the field.

Anyone know why Intuit doesn't bother to make these columns easily resizable, as they are in so many other applications?

Any coding changes require time and therefore money. Any software project has more changes on the "to do" list than can be done in the time and funding limits allowed. This means prioritizing the changes and drawing a line somewhere. A lot of decisions are subjective and will piss off or puzzle a lot of people.....
