One Step Update Summary Won't Go Away

Well, I had hopes that the One Step Update Summary would finally go away in QD

2009, but it hasn't.

I have QD set to automatically download new transactions every day at 6AM. Like a faithful dog, the little QD icon shows up in the systems tray every morning. But despite the fact that I check the box that states "Show this dialog only if there is an error", every day on starting up the program the stupid summary window pops on top of my register with all my accounts downloaded showing no error (little green flag).

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would be most appreciative.

Actually, I dusted off the archives and discovered the answer that John Pollard provided some months ago:

Unfortunately, the solution suggested by Intuit "use a backup copy of your datbase before the problem existed" doesn't really help as this problem has been around for years.

Indeed, I have this problem as well. I have been disregarding it as it really is a minor annoyance, but it would be good to know how you can force OSU to realize there is no error. (I have no real data on quicken.com, so there can't be an error from that, although it is probably the error that flags the OSU summary).

I though it might go away if I temporarily turned quicken.com on, allowed it to update once and then turned it off, but no joy.

Indeed, no joy. Maybe it has something to do with the upgrade that they did to quicken.com, or am I misremembering?

Most of the time it is Quicken.com that gets the error and the message usually refers to a network or server problem. It will sometimes takes week for that error to clear. I think that Quicken.com is also what downloads the updates to the program - so whether you update anything to Quicken.com might be mute. Also, they did remove the Download Web Transactions from the update process - finally.
