That's about as constructive as telling people not to drive and take the bus to avoid traffic accidents.
It's a "false need", whatver that is, to you. Your method does not solve everybody's problems or fit their needs. It fits your needs. Why thsi has become a religion to you is more baffling than why people use the bill pay.

I assume you believe this is more of your brand of "constructive criticism".

Look in the mirror. Look in the mirror. I simply will NOT through away 9.95 a month to have ANYONE else pay my bills when its all done automatically month after month 100% accurately.

You really want to know why? For years and years, wherever I look, I see people wasting their money, e.g. buying all sorts of "name-brand products" when store brand is usually just as good, e.g. flour (in Canada). Having bank accounts with all sorts of service charges when, if they did their research, they could find an account with MINIMAL charges. Accumulating dumb debit card charges by using other banks' machines, etc, etc.

Substitute a few words, here and there, and you sound exactly like some of those wacked-out TV evangelists!

I set up a filter to mark all of his posts as "read". I don't see them anymore as I step through unread posts. I do see responses to him, but I don't have to read the drivel that he writes. He is only the second person ever to be consigned to the "bozo bin". I recommend it highly. It makes this news group so much better.

"Uncal Bob" > machines, etc, etc.
Obviously, then, YOU are one of the financially illiterate to whom my post applies. If not, how is wasting money supportable? No surprise that we get the governments we do, eh?

Your problem, among many others, is that you don't just suggest different ways of approaching or solving problems, you seem to have this overwhelming need to insult people who don't necessarily agree with you.

Pot. Kettle. Black. AS IF no one who disagrees WITH ME ever insults me. Yeah, right.

SB, what's there to "blast away" about? Were *I* in your shoes, I'd be mightily pissed at both that bank and that insurance company. What a bloody nightmare! However, to blame the method, I.e. preauthorized automatic debits, for the madness would be similar to, example, blaming walking if one was injured while out for a walk, as opposed to blaming the idiot who ran the red light, hitting you. Surely, if you were hit while out walking, you wouldn't abandon walking as a method of getting around? Or would you? I think Intuit would be far more likely to screw up than my bank, one of the major 5 chartered banks in Canada with whom I have dealt with for 25 years with absolutely no problems. I dread to ask what you had to pay your lawyer for his/her involvement or did the bank reimburse you for your legal expenses?
Occasionally, I might _appear_ to be insulting, however, if you were there in person, observing my "body English", facial expression, etc., you'd realize that my reaction was actually far, far milder. Really.

SO it is a 'religion" to you. I have accounts with NO charges, even for Quicken bill pay. Is that MINIMAL enough for you?
Who made you "the decider"?

Peple cjoose to spend THEIR money as they see fit. That you see some of it as waste doesn't mean it is to them or anyone else. You apparenly think we should all look to you for finanincial wisdom. I don't see much besides a ranting demagogue

More lik:e quite frequently you're a real asshole.

Lucky you. Others feel more comfortable seeing the bill first. I have don't let anyone debit my accounts and never had a problem. Lucky me.
Why do insist on strating this all over again with such frequency?

One more time. I pay nothing, nada, zero, zilch. And again you're one crummy data point. Do you seriously believe that allowing auto debiting never screws up?
What do you think is likely to be more problematic? Giving someone permission to take money from your account, or telling the bank exactly how much to pay them and when?

"Ranting demagoguery" aptly describes YOUR posts.

At least an asshole has a USE. That would be a step up for oxygen wasters such as yourself.

YOU may love spending hours, every month, diddling around making MANUAL payments. THIS IS 2011, and those of us not locked into clerical activities a la Dickens in Victorian England, have gained the ability to automate the bill paying process. Hell, occasionally one encounters traffic jams. Using YOUR logic, that is reason enough to never get into a vehicle.
