Sharx,

That's the advantage of having a lawyer in the family. I do her computer support, she writes nasty letters.

I've been in IT management for 38 years including several years at Mastercard. I've seen too much happen to others including a similar issue with a vendor getting into my daughter's bank account.

So it isn't exactly a single data point that I base my decision upon. I'm just very careful with who has access to my money and what keeps me comfortable is -- I'll pay after I get your bill and validate it. You've not had a problem with your system. I've used Quicken for 7 years now and have never had a problem. In fact they went to bat for me when a gas card company said my payment was a day late and wanted me to pay $40 in fees.

I note your involvement in IT management, sb.

Let me briefly share my IT experience: trained (1973) as a computer operator (yeah, in those days we came to work in a jacket, tie, and dress pants) to the land of the floating floor) in an IBM

360 25 installation. Your phone has more computing power than that million dollar installation had then. Later, we upgraded to an IBM 370 125 VS plant. After hitting top of grid, "advanced" into systems, programming in RPG II and COBOL. Left that company, joining another as EDP assistant manager-- PDP 11 40 installation which sent most data down the line to Infomatics in Columbus Ohio for processing, resulting in a data stream which we formatted for onsite printing. Burned out and retrained as a self-employed income tax preparer which, in semi-retirement, I still keep "my hand in".

So, as a result of my past, I'm certainly aware of the expression "the Devil is in the Details" and aware that if something CAN go wrong in a system, program, etc., it eventually will.

Good Day! (as Paul Harvey used to say. I recall he also used to say something about, "and now, here's the REST of the story")

I spend about 15 minutes a month paying bills with Quicken bill pay and I pay all my bills that way. The reason to use it is that it is very fast.

And you don't have a clue what logic is. I've seen worse analogies than yours. As many as two.
