The FI's server mistakenly mischaracterized a bond interest payment as a miscellaneous income, with no category.
When I tried to edit the transaction in the investment account register, and move the amount from Miscellaneous to Interest, Quicken wouldn't let me. It said "You must delete the original transaction in order to make this change."
Is there a way around this?
I have that problem also with Fidelity. I don't accept the downloaded transaction - I enter manually the correct data while the downloaded transaction is still showing, then delete it after finishing the manual transaction. I do the same thing with reinvested dividends - enter the one reinvest transaction manually, then delete the dividend payment and subsequent security buy without accepting them.
