Q2005 R4 Update is available

Strange - Doesn't show up automatically for me. I had to go find it on the Intuit website. Seems worthwhile though:

Quicken 2005 Release 4 Notes

PRINTING

• Returned the ability to change fonts used for printing checks. Customization is allowed for text that will not interfere with it being Check 21 image compatible. To remain image compatible, font customization will continue be restricted for a select number of fields.

FILE BACKUP

• Fixed a problem where the Windows Installer dialog appears when trying to backup a file in Windows XP or Windows 2000.

Privacy Statement

• Updated descriptions of our privacy practices for our online services available through Quicken.com and included descriptions for new features, such as the discussion forums.

Really bizarre, isn't it? An update for Q2005 this late in the cycle? Q2006 is making its way to store shelves as I type...

I suspect they just had some things fixed and in the queue to be released and were waiting for something to drive the release. Chances are, the lawyers said they needed to send out the updated privacy notice...

They also added a message that displays at the bottom of the screen that says something to the effect of save $10 by upgrading to Quicken

I removed these messages from the .dat files and a new file showed up with the message in there. The message and the file showed up after the R4 upgrade.
